Marketplace: looks
The Marketplace is where album designers sell looks and where studios buy them. A look is everything a studio needs to make an album in your style: layouts, cover, title pages, background and fonts. Each look is for one print size. A studio buys a look once and keeps it for every album it makes; you get your share of each sale and Pixamatch keeps a small fee. (Looks were called packs before, and until 17 October 2026 designers earned a per-spread commission instead — see Earlier commission.)
Who this is for
Any account that designs albums: a freelance designer, a studio's team member or a studio admin. Open Marketplace in the studio sidebar. It has three tabs: Browse, My looks and Sales. Once you have saved a profile or made a look, the Marketplace opens on My looks; before that it opens on Browse. On a phone, Marketplace on the You tab opens Browse only; selling is on a computer.
Selling a look in three steps
You do not draw layouts for a look. An album you already designed is a look.
- Drop a finished album. On My looks press Sell a look and drop the PDF export of an album you designed (one page per spread; the spread JPGs work too), or pick an album you uploaded before. The look is made on the spot: it takes the album's name and print size. Every page is read and its photos traced into frames; a kind is filled in per page — the first page with a photo on its back half is the Cover page, one to six photos a Creation page, more a Group page — and you change any of them (Designer page, Title page, Skip) or set them all at once. Group pages start on Skip, because studios lay group pages from their own library; choose Group page to sell yours too. Press Import N pages.
- Check it, price it. The look opens with Review import on the pages the reader was unsure about. Press Looks right or Fix by hand to drag a frame onto the printed photo — this check is yours and optional; nothing waits for Pixamatch. On the right, set the Price a studio pays once (whole rupees; ₹0 makes the look free). The line under it says what you get after Pixamatch's fee. The checklist (Is this look complete?) says what an album would still take from the studio's own library.
- Publish. Press Publish. Every layout in the look goes live with it, new ones included. Studios see it on Browse and on the Finish step of every album of its print size.
No finished album at hand? Sell a look has a small link to start an empty look by name and print size, and fill it with Add from an album.
Filling a look
Two ways, both on the cards at the top of the look:
- Import a finished album: the same import as step 1, for another album of yours. Pages that repeat an earlier layout are saved once; a page the reader found no photos on cannot be imported; a page imported before is skipped unless you choose a kind for it again (the old copy is then switched off). In a look with a look border, photos are put touching and group pages run to the page edge, as the rule asks (see The look border).
- Add from an album: pick one of the albums you designed in Pixamatch, of the look's print size. Its spreads are shown in the same three sections. A spread whose frames you edited by hand becomes a new layout of yours; a spread on one of your own layouts adds that layout as it is. Spreads on Pixamatch's or another designer's layouts are greyed with the reason, grids and title pages are left out, and repeats of the same layout — or of one you already have — are skipped. Add N layouts saves the new ones and ticks everything into the look.
Each chip of the checklist (a mix such as 3T2W, or a group count such as 7) is a button: press it and the pages of your uploaded albums whose photos make exactly that mix are offered. Press one and it joins the look. The look's layouts are listed in three sections — Cover page, Creation page and Group page — then a folded Other. To add layouts you already own, tick Show all my layouts. A layout you switched off is hidden; Show switched off brings it back. A new layout carries a New pill: it goes live when you publish. Check in Review import on a page from a finished album opens that check. Rejected, Off, Studio only, Other size, Drawn gap and Own margin pills keep a look from publishing — so does a missing price.
Your style, learned
Under the checklist, Your style lists the finished albums the look's layouts came from. Once you have checked three creation pages or more, Measure the look turns them into the look's numbers: margins, gaps, photo sizes. Then Generate the missing mixes draws, on your numbers, the creation mixes none of your albums printed; each lands in the look with a Generated pill — untick any you do not like. Generating happens on a draft; unpublish first.
A complete look
An album built on your look takes each page from the look when the look has a layout that fits the photos, and from the studio's own library when it has none. Is this look complete? checks the look the way the album builder judges a layout. A look is Complete when it has a cover, creation pages for every mix of tall and wide photos from 3 to 6 (22 mixes), group pages for every count from 5 to 10 that seat all-wide photos and ones with one, two, or one in four tall, a big-group page (1–2 photos, one frame at least half the spread) and a one-photo group page. A look with no group page at all leaves group pages to each studio's library, and the checklist says so. Also recommended: creation pages for 1–2 photos, group pages for 11–16, and a title page. A look need not be complete to sell; Browse shows studios what it covers.
Once studios make albums on your look, Studios are using your look shows the photo mixes their albums needed in the last 30 days that your look had no layout for; the same count sits on the matching chip. Studio and album names are never shown; once a week Pixamatch sends you one notification that sums it up.
Price and what you earn
You set the price (Price on the look's page). A studio pays it once and keeps the look for every album it makes, for good — also after you change the price or unpublish. Pixamatch keeps a fee of each sale (the share is shown on the Price card) and you get the rest. Sales lists every sale with the look, the buyer and what you get, by look and by month, what Pixamatch paid out to you, and the balance owed. Pixamatch pays your balance out by bank transfer or UPI.
A sale waits for the money first: the studio's order reads Waiting for payment until Pixamatch confirms it, then the look unlocks for them and you both get a notification. A free look is the studio's at once.
Earlier commission
Until 17 October 2026 a designer earned a fixed amount per spread whenever another studio exported an album on their layouts. That stopped; looks are sold once now. Whatever you earned that way is still in your balance on Sales (folded under Earlier commission) and is paid out with your sales.
Background, fonts, cover, title pages
A look carries more than its layouts. Under More settings, Background and fonts sets the page background (a colour, a paper texture, or both), the title font (the part titles) and the text font. A cover layout in the look becomes the album's cover, with the album's photos and the couple's names in its frames; title-page layouts (set a page to Title page on import) become the album's title pages, the part's name in the layout's first text box. Without a matching one the album keeps its built-in title page, set in your title font. A layout whose text uses a font Pixamatch has not approved yet keeps the look from publishing.
The look border
Every new look has a look border, under More settings. It keeps the white gaps the same thickness on every page of an album: layouts are stored with photos touching (the album draws the gap, one slider for the whole album) and group pages run to the page edge (the album's designer decides how far in they print). Imported pages are snapped onto it. Suggested gap between photos and Suggested edge of group pages are what an album starts with when a studio picks your look. A group or creation page that breaks the rule keeps the look from publishing.
Publishing, frozen layouts
A look publishes once it has a price and every layout in it is yours, switched on, of the look's print size and follows the border. Unpublish takes it back to a draft; studios that bought it keep it. While a look is published, the layouts in it are frozen: their frames cannot change and they cannot be removed, because studios' albums built on the look must keep printing what the studio chose. To change one, press Duplicate & edit on it in Template Studio, or unpublish the look first. Pixamatch can take a look off the marketplace (it then reads Taken off by Pixamatch, with Pixamatch's note) and can feature a look.
Your profile
How studios see you at the bottom of My looks: Name studios see, City, Instagram, Website, About you and a picture. It folds away once saved.
For studios
Marketplace, then Browse lists every published look with its designer, print size, price, the page kinds it covers and how many studios bought it; a star marks a look Pixamatch features. Filter by print size or designer, or search. A look opens to its layouts by page kind and reads Complete, or lists what it is missing — those pages of your album keep the studio library. Buy this look places your order; Pixamatch sends you how to pay, confirms the payment and unlocks the look for your whole studio (a notification tells you). You can cancel an order that is still waiting. Take it free on a free look unlocks it at once. A look you own shows Owned and offers Preview on an album…: one of your albums with every look drawn on that album's own spreads and this one already picked — nothing changes until you choose it.
Designer looks you own sit beside the Pixamatch looks every studio gets: when you build an album, the Finish step shows the studio library, each Pixamatch look and each owned designer look of the album's print size as cards drawn with your own spreads. On a built album the Album inspector's Look row switches between them, and Compare looks… shows them side by side. A look also brings its page background, fonts, cover and title pages. Where a look has no layout for a page, the studio library steps in. Another designer's layouts are not in your library until you buy their look; an album you built on one before keeps printing as it is.
Still stuck? In the studio, ask Pixie, the help chat (Ask Pixie in the sidebar on a computer, the Pixie tab on a phone). Pixamatch answers every message.
